An update from our Common Ground Series in SE Michigan from Hillary Young:
Hi, I’m Hillary, one of the Michigan Braver Angels moderators, and I’m thrilled to share the progress we’ve made in fostering understanding and sustainable change in our state. In response to recent tragic events, we recognized the urgent need to connect and truly listen to one another. Through our common ground workshops, we created a safe space for people with opposing views on firearm safety to share their life experiences and find commonalities. We identified shared values and concerns, and together, we developed a list of action items to address the root problems. It was inspiring to witness city officials, legislators, and community members come together to focus on what unites us. Now, we’re ready to take action, including creating PSAs and promoting productive dialogue to show that there is common ground and a path to change. Join us in this important journey!
